We recently read a blog post about video marketing statistics written by the CEO of Video Brewery. The blog broke down the stats associated with online video marketing, and made a compelling case for the usage of videos in advertisement and sales. However, we were interested in the audience drop off rates and what it means for real estate marketing. Take a look at this excerpt from the article:  

"10 seconds:

That’s how long you have to grab the attention of viewers in a video marketing clip. According to research by Visible Measures, 20% of your viewers will click away from a video in 10 seconds or fewer.

And it doesn’t get a lot better than that. You’ll lose about 1/3 of your viewers by 30 seconds, 45% of them by 1 minute and almost 60% by 2 minutes. And those numbers remain the same no matter how long the video is." 


What does this mean for REALTORS?

Listing videos, which are usually around 2 minutes long, are becoming more and more popular in the real estate industry, but how effective can they be if 60% of viewers are dropping off before the video is over and before the whole property is shown. With the high production costs associated with listing videos, this is rarely economical. While listing videos can be necessary and appropriate for that "special" listing, they simply are not ideal for bulk of properties. 

Armed with this knowledge, we set out to design a product that harnesses the growing power of video marketing, while keeping the viewer's short attention span in mind. And with that came the IMOTO Listing $8 add-on product designed for maximum impact.   

IMOTO's Listing Teaser is a 30 second, slide show video that gives potential buyers a quick overview of a property. It is set to fast-paced music that captures the buyer's attention within the first 10 seconds using a fun countdown, and keeps the buyer's attention by quickly cycling through the property's listing photos. 

We also designed the Listing Teaser so that it can be easily shared through social media. Facebook and Twitter are becoming increasingly important for real estate agents, and the listing teaser allows agents to showcase their listings with one simple social upload. As potential buyers scroll through their Facebook feeds, the video will play as they pass it, drawing them into the listing and the agent's profile. The Listing Teaser can also be emailed to potential buyers and used as leverage to get new listings, as the Teaser is an innovative and effective marketing tool.
